I decided to read this one because it is everywhere on Instagram and I mean everywhere. So, I decided to give it a try when I saw it on the Kindle store for £0.99, and I am so glad I did!
The storyline is around a famous, talented painter called Alicia Berenson who after being charged with the murder of her husband decided to remain silent for the following years. She then gets admitted into a mental health care institute called The Grove where she meets Theo Farber a psychotherapist who seems to be fixated with Alicia and makes it his personal aim to get her to talk and to understand her story.
This is one of the best thrillers I have ever read, gripping from the beginning, exciting, well written and then it was a very good twist at the end which just makes it great after a slow-burning build-up. This Novel was well researched, engaging and I couldn’t put it down, that’s why I read it in a matter of hours.
I found the two main characters intriguing and mysterious, you want to understand them and especially Alicia. Did she really kill her husband? Why did she do it? You want to figure it out. As the story progresses, her thoughts and intentions are explored while all the pieces of the puzzle start to come together.
If you have read your fair share of mystery stories you might be able to start guessing the truth, but I still think there is a lot going on which makes this one a worthy read, I don’t think you would be disappointed.
In conclusion, if you haven’t read this book yet, please give it a try, is a great read!
Loved it and never saw the twist coming!! Had about 20 different theories and they were all wrong haha. Thanks for the recommendation!
